Thank you colleagues for sharing your well wished.  I hope something in this class that I have said though the blogs or discussion have helped you in some kind of way.  I hope that if this is not your last class to continue with the help of our Lord.  Be bless and well wishes in your next class.

Adjourning the Group

The group that I could not adjourn from was the group at my
church called the Sisterhood.  Each month
we meet and have a little bible study, planning Sunday’s events, or even going
on shopping trip or trips that are pertaining to Christian education.  We meet over a course of nine months.  We all work so well together and at the end
of the nine months we can’t leave.  We
say we never adjourn because we have always some type of event plan during the
summer.  When the summer event is over,
we have a planning meeting for the next season. I guess we never adjourn because we have such good conversation and all
are working on one accord.

I can only imagine adjourning this group of colleagues
wondering how in certain members in the class. I would only hope we could continue that blogs to keep and update on
everyone.

Sometimes it is essential to leave to group only
to gather other ideas.  Then when it is
time to come back together we could brainstorm what we have thinking and try to
implement for the next year

Communiction

This next eight weeks will be a very exciting one.  We will be learning about all those ways to communicate and collaborate with others.  We have started to communicate already by talking back with our blogs. But as I a look over it is good.  I look at my pastor who is the person that delivers a great from of communication.  He gets up every Sunday morning and delivers the message that has been sent by God. His message is by making good eye contact.  I have seen ministers deliver the message and read every word they have written.  He has great gestures.  He moves about in the pulpit and have the audience to make give feedback when he is talking.  I believe that this is for the audience to keep them interested.  Though I do not want to be a preacher or pastor, but I would one day would like be a person that teaches other about childcare and deliver my message about like the pastor.

Who I am as a Communicator and to Others

After doing this assignment, I had to think am I a good person to communicate with and a person that one can listen to.  I found the exercises were good ways to see myself as the communicator and ways that I can improve in communicating, verbal aggressiveness, and listening.  I found the most surprising comment from my daughter is the one that I am often am extremely careful to avoid attacking individual intelligence when I attack their ideas.  She thinks that because I always try to correct her and try to see my point instead of hers.  The insight that I gained from this week communication is that I can learn from others just by listening and my self concept me I can put other first and make them feel good about themselves.

Communicating with Different Cultures

When I think about communicating with the different groups, cultures, or colleagues, I find myself have a different subject to talk about.  For instance, if I am at church or Sunday school, we mainly talk about what we have done for the week in relation to the Sunday school lesson.  In my sorority, we are constantly talking communicating about what has been happening in our life.  This is because we only see each other in our monthly meetings or at a function we may be sponsoring.  For instance, we recently had a function; at the function was a college friend that I had not seen in years.  Therefor e we were not only glad to see each other, but our conversation went on about how was the family, how are the kids in school, how is my business, how is her principle job.

Communicating with different cultures is usually a conversation about the weather if do not know the person.  Then, it would lead to what part of the country you from.  Then telling them that I wish I could go there if I had not visited there before.  I am not really big on a lot of words, but I try to may a conversation anywhere or with anyone I see mainly I am a listner.

The strategies that I would use to help communicate more effective is learn a person perceptual screening  to help reduce the amount of events and perception we need to process at any given time.  The second would be recognizing the communication style to recognize the different topics that is being feed. And last always use the Platinum Rule.

Our Nonverbal Communications

The television show I chose to watch was The King of Queens.  While watching this show with the volume off, I had no idea what was going on.  I figure the characters in the show out because it was only three main one.  There was a wife, a husband, and an older man.   I figured that husband because he came in from work and kissed the lady and all the conversations were with her.  I figured that the husband was a postman like working for UPS or something. I could never figure what kind of work the wife did; she would come in from work with a brief case.  So I think she must work corporate or something.

Looking at their facial expression, I think the husband was upset about something from work.  The props told me the wife was planning a trip to France, why I could not figure that out.  The dad was upset also.  He was on the phone waving his hands around in the air, frowning, and walking back and forth.

When I turned the volume on the show, my assumptions were correct about the husband and the wife.  The old man was the wife father.  The trip the wife was planning was a vacation for the two of them to France.  But the husband was upset because the days the wanted off were taken but later became available. The old man was upset because he didn’t want a prize he won, and was tried of holding on the phone.  The plot they were going on vacation but in an RV.

After reviewing this show, that I never took the time to watch and I don’t watch much television anyway. I feel that some times that I can read the facial expressions and but I just make any assumptions of anything.  Although we may read some facial expression, we should never assume the situation is bad or good just know that the person is apart the conversation and trying to make the best of it.
