Communicating with Different Cultures

When I think about communicating with the different groups, cultures, or colleagues, I find myself have a different subject to talk about.  For instance, if I am at church or Sunday school, we mainly talk about what we have done for the week in relation to the Sunday school lesson.  In my sorority, we are constantly talking communicating about what has been happening in our life.  This is because we only see each other in our monthly meetings or at a function we may be sponsoring.  For instance, we recently had a function; at the function was a college friend that I had not seen in years.  Therefor e we were not only glad to see each other, but our conversation went on about how was the family, how are the kids in school, how is my business, how is her principle job.

Communicating with different cultures is usually a conversation about the weather if do not know the person.  Then, it would lead to what part of the country you from.  Then telling them that I wish I could go there if I had not visited there before.  I am not really big on a lot of words, but I try to may a conversation anywhere or with anyone I see mainly I am a listner.

The strategies that I would use to help communicate more effective is learn a person perceptual screening  to help reduce the amount of events and perception we need to process at any given time.  The second would be recognizing the communication style to recognize the different topics that is being feed. And last always use the Platinum Rule.
